About me:
My interest in the Russian revolution stems
from a lifetime's involvement in the socialist and labour movements. I
started travelling to Russia and Ukraine in 1990, and have written
about them as a journalist as well as a historian. Since completing the
PhD dissertation on which The
Russian Revolution in Retreat was based, in 2007, I have worked
as a Senior Research Fellow at the Oxford
Institute for Energy Studies.
